Seedance 2.1: ByteDance’s Next Video Upgrade (Coming Soon).

Seedance 2.1 is ByteDance’s reported next-generation upgrade to the Seedance 2.0 video family — the quality-focused counterpart to the cheaper Seedance 2.0 Mini. Where Mini trims cost, 2.1 pushes fidelity: sharper detail, stronger motion, and tighter prompt adherence on the same multimodal engine.

It’s not out yet. ByteDance hasn’t officially released Seedance 2.1 or confirmed a date — most of what’s circulating comes from third-party platforms and industry reports. We’re tracking it, and it’s marked Coming soon in getvivix Studio.

What’s expected from Seedance 2.1

Reports frame 2.1 as a quality step up over Seedance 2.0 rather than a new price tier. The Seedance 2.0 engine is already multimodal — text, image, video, and audio inputs in one workflow, with native audio and clips up to 15 seconds — so 2.1 is expected to refine that foundation rather than replace it:

• Higher output quality — the headline change reports point to.
• Better motion & coherence — steadier subjects across the clip.
• Stronger prompt adherence — closer match between brief and result.
• Same multimodal inputs — text / image / reference / audio, native audio out.

Specifics beyond that are unconfirmed — we won’t quote benchmark numbers until ByteDance publishes them or we can test the model ourselves.
